Water Baptism and It's Significance

Weekly Update for Week Starting March 31st

March 29, 2018

Easter is Upon Us!

Hello Church!!!! This week we celebrate Easter. This is the time where we really press into the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We do this all year, of course, but this is a time where we all come together with one accord and magnify Christ together for this truly wonderful and glorious act.

We wanted to ask you to please invite your friends and family to our service. The gospel will be presented and we would it if your friends and family can hear of the Hope that Christ brings to everyone who puts their trust in Him.

A meal, prepared by Rachel Cardoza and crew, will be provided before the service at 5pm. We will be served Lemon Pepper Chicken, homemade mac and cheese, and roasted asparagus and zucchini. It should be delicious. I love food...

All in all this Easter we should turn our eyes to the Author and Perfecter of our Faith. Sometimes we forget the most basic things about why we became a Christian in the first place. Sometimes we can get into a rut and forget what Christ has truly done for us and get sucked into the world's game. Ask God to awaken your heart to the reality of Him again. He is alive and well to this day and forever more. Don't wait, He loves you! Let us know if we can pray for you!

Announcements

The Saturday following Easter we will be holding our first Water Baptismal service. We expect God to do miraculous things through this service. Rod's sermon got me even more pumped up for the wonderful thing that Water Baptism is.

It's business time!!!! April 21st we will be going over the financial health of our church as well as logistical decisions our church is going through and our plan for the coming year(s). These meetings always make me feel a lot more involved in our church and let me see a little behind the scenes to know how my church is doing.

We will also be ratifying our new church council members as well. If you would like to know how you become a voting member of the church, please let us know by email at info@parklandfoursquare.com.

As you may well know, a lot of our lovely families are growing in number. Above you will see three beautiful babies recently born. Please reach out to these families with words of encouragement, prayers, and whatever God puts on your heart when you think of them. Thanks all!

Speaking of babies.... If you recently welcomed a little one into this world and would like to dedicate your baby to the Lord at our church please contact us at info@parklandfoursquare.com. We will be having dedications throughout May and we would like to make sure we get a date that works best for you and your family!

If you have any questions or comments about the announcements please comment below or let us know by email at info@parklandfoursquare.com.

Why Water Baptism?

Rod's Sermon

This week we have the awesome resource of having an audio recording of Rod's timely and eye-opening message on baptism. The Audio is listed below and you can listen to it here by clicking on the play button when you are ready. You will also notice a note reference sheet that may help you during the message to follow where Rod is going along with scripture references for his message.

Last week's sermon was truly revelatory for many in our congregation(especially me.) I hope that you hear Rod's heart of obedience in this message. The Lord desires us to walk in His ways and to make Him known throughout the Earth. Let us know if you have any questions about Rod's message and we would be glad to get some answers.

Thank you!

Final Words and Prayer

The invitation still stands for prayer requests for those who would like others to stand with them in prayer. Please let us know if you have any specific requests and we would love to add them here or to have them shared with leadership. Please comment below or email info@parklandfoursquare.com.

  • Please pray for my coworkers at Fred Meyer. One of them is going to the doctor for what she believes is a diabetes diagnosis. Please pray first for it to be a false alarm and then of course for God's will to be done and for her to draw closer to the Lord in this time.
  • Please pray for our new baby families as they adjust to their growing families.
  • Please pray for our Easter service to go well and for those in Parkland to come and to hear God's message. Pray that many families are drawn to our church to hear the message of Christ and that they would give their lives to God.

Church, I sincerely pray that you have a wonderful week. God is with you. He loves you and wants you to draw near to Him. He has provided a way through Jesus Christ and through the release of the Holy Spirit into a believers life. We so often take Him for granted. Let's take the time to turn our hearts and minds back to Him. Praise be to God for His mercy and grace to those who call on His name and to those who have yet to do so. God is good. See you this Saturday!
