(The scenes are pretty intense so we are not displaying this video in our live stream in case it would be too much for some of our kids.)
HOME GROUPS TO ZOOM GROUPS
What we need from you:
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org the official date at time you can meet for zoom groups ASAP. ( If possible keep the same times you set for home groups so you can jump back in when the quarantine ends)
Once I know the date and time I will send you a “link” to use and distribute to the people in your zoom group. ( You will use this same link every week.)
What Will ZOOM groups look like?
We continue to emphasize PBJ four our groups.
These groups will work best if everyone in the group is reading along with the PBJ plan.
For example: Conviction of sin, revelation about the nature and Character of God, Discernment on what the scripture is saying and its application, Increased passion or zeal for the things on God’s heart, etc.
What am I doing about it?
For example: Walk in repentance from a particular sin by doing “x”, Start praying in this specific way, Changing the way we think about something, Serve someone in a particular way, Start changing my habits by doing “x”, etc.
Ask everyone in the group to meditate and journal on these 2 questions throughout the week in their PBJ.
Spend time in your zoom groups going around person by person sharing each person’s responses to these two questions.
Each week the PBJ blog www.parklandfoursquare.com/blog/pbj will have an example from scripture answering these two questions. Feel free to use these as an aid for your discussions.
Other helpful Zoom group tips:
DON’T OPEN with prayer requests/praise reports. This usually sacrifices the reading of the word for lack of time. BUT this is a great way to close the meeting.
Pray every week for people you know who don’t know Jesus, or are not connected with a church community.
Reach out to Pastor Dan for help with anything including the technology part to this.
This may be a good time to include worship if someone from your group wants to lead with one or two songs.
Please use these guidelines to lead your Zoom groups. I trust you to know how to implement this for your group and what is needed. Please be diligent to communicate with me how things are going weekly. I am realizing afresh how important personal connection and community is in this time of quarantine and how important your partnership is to the wellness of our church community!
Proverbs 29:18 (ESV) — 18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.
