Asbury University Outpouring
February 17th, 2023
After a routine 10am chapel service on Wednesday, February 8th at Asbury University no one wanted to leave, and they still haven't.
Rev. Zach Meerkreebs taught on Romans 12: 9-21:
"13 verses, 30 commands...You can't love like this verse speaks [about]...You cannot love until you are loved by Jesus...1john 4.19 says, We love because he first loved us...Some of us need to sit in the love of God, Some of us need to taste and see and experience the power of the Holy Spirit. If you really want to become love in action you start by prostrating yourself before the Love of God. If you want to become love in action than you have to experience the love of God. Are you convinced, we can't do those 30 commands...The World Needs this kind of love...They need a bunch of Christians to experience the love God so they can pour out the love of God, not through their own efforts and not through their own knowledge but beause they are filled with His love...I pray that this sits on you like an itchy sweater You've got to itch and you've take care of it...Become the love of God by experiencing the love of God"
After the message a simple opportunity for prayer was given. Students started coming forward, confessing their sin, worshiping Jesus, and testifying of God's work in their lives. They continued on through the night and to date this gathering continues as God continues blessing the gathering and awaken hearts.
The leadership at Asbury has been stewarding this move with tremendous maturity. Their mantra has been to steward, “Radical humility, purity and hunger”
