Psalm 61
Hillary Donohoue
January 30, 2016

1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.

From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.

I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Increase the days of the king’s life,
his years for many generations.

May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill my vows day after day.

Well, this Psalm pertains to all of us! But due to the fact Brynn isn't well right now, it makes me think of her. She's had pretty harsh stomach pain off and on for 3 weeks...and the final three days here have been severe.

She has been crying out to God...curled up into a little ball on the cold kitchen floor while I am making dinner saying, 'Jeeesus, my tummy hurts! Help me!' I keep telling her He hears her cries, like He heard the Israelites in Goshen. I see Brynn in pain and think, 'how in the world is it possible to refuse to reach down right now and have mercy when you hear this 25 lb pipsqueek crying out to the Lord??'

But He knows! He hears! He cares! He will act! He is coming! He's got this! As the psalm says, 'As my heart goes faint, lead me to the rock that is higher than I', I remind my own heart to put its trust in Jesus and not let fear sink in...and that Jesus is BIGGGER and STRONGER than sin and the enemy! I am little, Brynn is little, her sickness can be destroyed by one word. He is the Solid Rock on which we stand! He isn't going anywhere! And I know He heard and cares about Brynnie's prayers and cries for Him to act on her behalf!

Lord, You are our strong tower! You are our refuge and safety! You are the One who we run to cover for...Your wings of protection are spread over us when we sit and rise. I pray right now for Brynnalise and any other sick member in our body. I pray that they would run to You and see Your swift, immediate Power touch their bodies right now and wake up refreshed, renewed, and restored, in Jesus name. I ask for breakthrough in our lives! Breakthrough of your presence...to feel your covering and hovering over us...and for healing to flow. In Jesus name!
