PFC UPDATES!!

For Week Starting July 28th, 2018

July 28, 2018

Hello Church!! Stores are still having their back to school sales. This means that kids will be heading back to school in just over a month and we might be able to find a good deal on these wipes. We committed to raise 500 wipe packages, of no particular size. We have now raised over 300 with a large anonymous donation last week. WOOHOOO! We just want to let you know that the time is getting closer. So, check out your local grocery/retail store and pick up a couple packs of wipes today. Under 200 to go! Let's do this thing!

Parkland Foursquare!!!! We are gearing up for an excellent outreach event to our community this August!!! Be sure to be around for this one! August 23rd-25th(misprint in our photo) we will be hosting our Lost in Space Kids outreach event at our church. We will be holding this exciting event 5:30-7:30pm on Thursday and Friday and 3:30-5:30pm on Saturday with community meal and church service to follow. There will be games, snacks, gospel presentation, and more! We really hope you can make it! Invite your neighbors, friends and family!

Please let us know if you are interested in helping in any way by emailing us at info@parklandfoursquare.com.

Saturday, August 25th, we will be having our Monthly Community Meal.

From Rachel Cardoza(Community Meals Organizer/Leader):

"If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed', but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:16-17.
I know that this verse is a little intense, but James' straight forward approach to faith has always appealed to me. It's not enough to pray for well-being and health for others, it is just as important to actually be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Our Parkland community is a very low income; providing free meals not only gives the members of the community a place to get a healthy meal, but it allows space for our own church community to connect (hopefully with our neighbors). Food is a natural bridge, it spans differences and smooths tempers. Friends are made at the family table.
At Parkland Foursquare we want to allow for the comfort and community that good food brings, giving opportunity for authentic relationships that extend beyond the service greeting. So, we eat together at least once a month.

If you are interested in helping with set-up or clean-up or have any questions, please email info@parklandfoursquare.com or contact Rachel Cardoza directly if you have her contact info.
